As Dan Antion says, it’s good to have friends who enable one’s doordiction.
Friend and fellow writer Andrea Gilbey sent me these beauties from Cheshunt, England, Great Britain, saying,
A couple of doors for you! From the Cheshunt parish church of St Mary the Virgin.
Here’s a link to a bit of history of the church. This is where I used to read at the school Carol service every year. Always the bit about the Angel Gabriel appearing to the Shepherds. 7 years I read that – I still know it by heart. ??
And friend and fellow writer Mildred Perkins sent me these from IU Bloomington, Indiana, USA, saying,
This is from the building I work in. It pre-dates Hitler’s Germany btw.Β The same patterned tiles are on the floor, too, somewhat run down after a hundred years.
Thursday Doors is the brainchild of Norm Frampton, photographer extraordinaire. Visit his site, enjoy his photographs, click on the blue frog link, and enter a world of doors.
A WRITING PROMPT FROM ME TO YOU: Write about an old and well-preserved building.

August 30, 2018 at 7:17amThanks for the mention. Itβs wonderful the way door fever spreads. Good friends enable us (for good stuff like doors).

August 30, 2018 at 10:10amWell done, friends of Marian! (Have to make sure I get the “r” in “friends” or they become “fiends”, not at all the same thing!!) I like “doordiction”, too.

August 31, 2018 at 8:22amI thought borrowing money was what friends are for. Uh, I mean, YES, supplying us with door photos is totally what friends are for! I’ve passed your compliments along. π

August 31, 2018 at 8:22pmThat tile is somethin else! Great share to great share on her behalf π
The church doors are beautiful in that worn wood way I love. The annunciation bit? Was that you? π Behold an angel said unto her…. No, really, doesn’t it start with Greetings! and then like, “God favors you”?

September 1, 2018 at 9:54amThat was Andrea, not I. “Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee! Blessed art thou among women” is how the Rosary puts it.
