Green Dragon, Cheshunt, UK #ThursdayDoors

First, it’s the beginning of the month, so there’s a new micro-mini story on my Hot Flashes page.

Now.

Friend, fellow writer, and Per Bastet Publications author, Andrea Gilbey of England sent me these lovely shots of the Green Dragon public house in Cheshunt, England. Cheshunt is not far from London.

The pub was closed when she was there, alas. The food and drink have moved to another location, and the building is for sale. So, if you’re in the market for a coaching inn in Great Britain, the Green Dragon is available.

Thursday Doors is the brainchild of Norm Frampton, photographer extraordinaire. Visit his site, enjoy his wonderful photographs, follow his directions, and enter a world of doors.

A WRITING PROMPT FROM ME TO YOU: Write about an abandoned old pub/bar.

Since Dragon’s Milk is my favorite beer, a pub named after a dragon would be a natural for me. Just remember, though: The flagon with the dragon has the pellet with the poison.

Green Dragon is a pretty cool name for a Pub. Add to that the fact that it’s in a 16th century building, that takes cool to a whole ‘nuther level. I’d be curious enough to pop in for a pint or two 😉

It’s closed and empty now, more’s the pity. Let’s buy it and reopen it! All the dooristas could chip in!
