Glass and #Nails #MondayRecommends

My favorite nail art supplier is Maniology, which is located in Hawaii, and my late mother retired from Corning Glass and I spent many happy hours touring the Corning Museum of Glass, so I am all about this post: These Hawaiian Artists Have Created Vases That Capture The True Beauty Of The Ocean.

Oh. Mighod.

If I ever get to Hawaii, other people can swarm the beach. Imma go check out Kela’s Glass Gallery.

I decided to clip my claws, so there went my purty gold-on-gold mani. I slapped this on as a place-holder:

Those white squiggles are supposed to be snowdrops in the rain. Hmmm, not so much.

I’m going through a bad patch with the nail art, buggering up everything I try. No, Dr. Ackerman, this is not a sign that I should give up. This is a sign that I’m about to make a breakthrough. Ha!

Meanwhile, I did this mani for a baby shower I went to yesterday.

Lookin’ pretty rough, but the holo taco glitters joy into my heart. If you don’t understand that sentence, that’s okay. The amazing Sara Marian understands.

A WRITING PROMPT FROM ME TO YOU: Someone struggles to do something they used to do well and easily.

I’m thinking of all the time it takes to apply and dry as often as you’re changing up your nails! I have a nail dryer but it still is time-consuming. Then I thought…” well, it’s her art. Time smime!” The blue snow and raindrops are neat. Ditto what Dr. Ackerman said.

It really doesn’t take that much time, Deborah. Thin coat of polish, do something like type or read for 15 minutes, another thin coat. The stamping only takes seconds. If I do a decal, THAT has to dry on the mat or the stamper head, but that doesn’t tie ME down. Modern polishes are formulated to be quick-dry, as long as you don’t glob it on. And a quick-dry topcoat helps, too. I’ve been known to paint my nails and do the laundry at the same time. 😀
