This Guy. #MondayRecommends #NailArt

Dammit. This post was supposed to be scheduled for Monday, duh. So I’ll just have to find something else to recommend for Monday.

So this guy pops up and comments on my blog. He says he likes my humor and my environmental concern, and tells me he has a picture of a frog I might like to look at. Normally, a line like that wouldn’t get me into a van with a stranger, nor yet up to his room, but I did visit his blog, Bob Lorentson — An Optimist in Dreamland.

Bob Lorentson is possibly the funniest guy on what’s left of God’s green earth. That’s my opinion, anyway. Not always funny, though. His poem, What’s The Hurry? is pretty grim, and rightly so.

But then there’s Migratory Bird Daze, an essay — perhaps not surprisingly — entirely about migratory birds.

The bar-tailed godwit flies 7000 miles in eight days, without stopping.  It tries to lord that performance over the other birds when it finally lands, but it’s a bar-tailed godwit, so no one pays it any attention.

If you don’t think that’s funny, I don’t know if we can be friends. Just kidding — OF COURSE we can be friends! Unless you’re an asshole, and even then we can be cordial acquaintances.

ANYWAY, in other news, I’m still playing Minecraft, and I found a Minecraft nail stamping plate! So here are my nails this week:

I thought that was odd, but then, I mix up days all the time! I’ll roll back around and see the nails later 🙂

My frog and I thought this was hilarious, and we thank you for the mention.
The bar-tailed godwits however still don’t get it. I suspect they never will.

Maybe the frog guru could explain it to them. OTOH, you can’t really expect much from a bar-tailed godwit.
