Hate THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER? Bite Me. #MondayRecommends and #NailArt

Hate it because it messes with the canon? I’m old enough to remember when Thor was enchanted by Odin to forget his origins and lived on earth as a doctor with a walking stick who, when the stick was struck on the ground, became The Mighty Thor.* So don’t talk to me about the canon.

Hate it because it’s goofy AF? I’m old enough to remember when Marvel published a series of self-parodies called Not Brand Echh. So don’t talk to me about goofy.

I loved it. Gonna stream it again. Pretty boys, tough women, Russell Crowe being brilliant … What’s not to like?

*The doctor’s name was Donald Blake, which also happened to be the name of one of my buddies in high school. Probably the same guy.

The Autumnal Equinox is this week, so I did nails to honor it.

Again, all my products this week are Maniology. The light blue base color and light blue stamping on my accent nail is Droplet. The dark blue base color is Cauldron. The brown is Terracotta Rose. The silver is So Metal. The plates are MXM078 and MXM069.

A WRITING PROMPT FROM ME TO YOU: An even balance.

I’m not a follower of the THOR franchise but saw it anyway, as hubby is a fan. IMO, much of it was silly, but I absolutely LOVED Russell Crowe’s portrayal of Zeus, oddball accent and all! We need more of him next time.

It WAS silly — intentionally so. Sort of a self-parody, which I loved. πŸ™‚
