Food Tuesday: Vegetarian “Fish” Tacos

#FoodTuesday #vegetarian #writingprompt

This could be made with real fish to be pescatarian, or it could be made with vegan “cheese” to be vegan, but this was made with Gardein’s F’sh Filets and actual sharp cheddar cheese.

A f’sh filet, a quick pickle of onion (didn’t have any red, which I would have preferred), shredded cabbage, and cheddar cheese, wrapped in a flour tortilla.

Quick pickle: vinegar, salt, pepper, and a little sugar. Soak onion shreds in it for at least 15 minutes.

Wrap it up and heat it long enough for the cheese to melt. SO GOOD!

Great idea, Marian. This spring I’ve “assembled” fish tacos a few times. For some reason I had never tried to make one until then. I like your addition of pickled onions (something I’ve never had). Thanks for telling us how to make the Quick Pickle. Hugs.

Assembly is cooking! I hereby decree! Most of what I “cook” is slapped together from scraps, so I throw no stones. HUGS

I love shredded cabbage in fish tacos. It gives them just the right amount of crunch. When I think of the fish tacos I’ve had that I liked the most, they all have the fish on a bed of shredded cabbage.

In case you’re wondering, I am no longer getting notifications about new blog posts 🙁 But, I know where to find you, so…

I don’t know what’s up with those notifications. You had that problem for a while. I’ll have to look on your blog for your solution. I know I signed up for email notifications about sebbenty-lebben times.

Your site had two different ways of signing up when I “fixed” this before. I still get one of those notifications, but never on the day of your post. If you sign up at my place, use the email thingie on the side.
