HELLO! My name is CHICKIE!

I had a very sad day last Winsday. I mean, first it was really, really happy, and then it was really, really sad. There was somebody outside using a chainsaw!

I was so excited! Poppy was back! I waited for hours, and watched for him out the back door and sat where I could see the front door and the back door so I wouldn’t miss him when he came in from cutting wood.

But he didn’t come. Mommy and #4 Hooman Sister picked me up and tissed me all over my head and told me it was all right. But it wasn’t all right. But Mommy and #4 Hooman Sister and #4 Hooman SisterAlmostMister talked so sweet to me and loved me up so much, it was kind of all right.

I tried to play peeks with Adi, but she growls and hisses at me. Just because I growled and hissed at her when she first came! Maybe she’ll stop, by and by, and we can play for real.

Yesterday morning, there was all this noise outside.

A truck brought a bunch of stuff that didn’t look like any deer cat I’ve ever seen.

Then a bunch of men came and thumped around on the roof like Poppy used to do when he cleaned the chimbley. But I didn’t get fooled this time. Mommy said we’re getting a new roof. I don’t know why, because we have a roof already. I trust Mommy, though, so if she says we need a new roof, I guess we do.

Adi and I are interested, but Tipper is hiding, like he always does when people he doesn’t know come around.
