Food Tuesday: Legs and Ears

Insofar as I know, there’s nothing particularly cannibalistic about the Italians, but you wouldn’t know it from the names of their pastas. I grew up eating elbow macaroni, and now I’ve bought a box of little ears, AKA orecchiette.

I also bought a jar of Rao brand pasta sauce at the grocery, which sauce was recommended by my #1 Daughter, and a rotisserie chicken, which is sometimes on sale for less than a raw chicken and that’s a deal. We prefer dark meat, but the white meat is good enough in chicken soup or chicken & dumplings and the bones are for broth.

ANYWAY, slap ’em all together and get this:

OF COURSE I added mushrooms, because I add mushrooms to damn near everything.

Leave out the chicken and let it be vegan; it’ll still be delicious. Add peas. Yum.

That looks very good. I’d even enjoy the vegan version.
