#ThursdayDoors #writingprompt
If I do go somewhere soon, y’all are gonna get SO SICK of looking at my picture books. Well, tough. I live in the woods, you know? And I like it here.
ANYWAY, this week’s doors come from the Howard Pyle Story Book, fairy/folk tales illustrated by Howard Pyle. I am all about fairy/folk tales, and all about book illustrations, so I have plenty to last me.
Howard Pyle favored details, including hardware, stonework, and background edifices like this one.
This isn’t a door, but it’s such a cool picture and such a cool window, I had to include it.
Thursday doors is under the direction of Dan Antion, photographer extraordinaire and critter daddy. Visit his site, enjoy his wonderful photographs, follow his directions, and enter a world of doors.
A WRITING PROMPT FROM ME TO YOU: A very special key.

November 24, 2024 at 12:36pmYou can show us as many of these as you like! Wonderful illustrations — and I think it is reasonable to think that those who like doors would like these fairy and folk tales. They open doors in our minds, or at least I think so.

November 25, 2024 at 9:32amWell put, Maureen! I love it when illustrators pay attention to “background” details. It brings you into the story.

November 21, 2024 at 4:53pmIt’s not that I don’t want you to go anywhere soon, but I’m loving these doors. And I really really love that window in the last image.
