Hi, there! I’m Tipper Allen, and guess what? We don’t hardly have any wild animals around here anymore. ‘Cause they’re just about practically tame!
Momma took this picture out of the side window, right outside the baseump door.
And Rotten Raccoon thinks he ought to get to come in!
Our #4 Hooman Sister is still coming over a lot to spend the night with us. She keeps picking us up. I don’t like it. See how I don’t like it?
What I like is that Momma lets me snuggle her when I want to. One night, I snuggled her all night.
I don’t know why I don’t want to snuggle sometimes, and then sometimes I do. I think it’s a cat thing. But Momma lets me when I want to, so that makes me happy.
A WRITING PROMPT FOR ANIMALS: Do you like to be picked up? If somebody picks you up and you don’t want to be, do you let them, or do you wiggle and fuss and act like you’re gonna scratch like some animals I could name?

September 12, 2020 at 10:04amMmm…I can really see that you’re forcing yourself to cuddle there, Tipper! Tell me something, is that Raccoon a danger to you and Chickie? Coz it definitely looks as if it wants to come in. Happy Snuggles!

September 12, 2020 at 11:29amI won’t let them out, no matter how they beg. Or him in, either. The raccoons around here think they’re cats. #1 Daughter, next door, has to push hers off the porch with a broom while her outdoor cats are eating. Not chase them; she has to physically PUSH them off or they won’t go.

September 12, 2020 at 1:18pmDoes one of your daughters live in your mom’s old house? Just wondering.

September 13, 2020 at 10:35amlol lol lol! So basically her raccoons want to be pets??? Would they hurt the cats though? They look big enough but I have no idea how aggressive/mean they are.
Marian Allen
September 13, 2020 at 3:43pmI kind of think they might not be aggressive/mean if there was plenty of food around and nobody tried to interfere with them, but they ARE wild animals, and they’ll do what they feel like they need to and damn the consequences.

September 13, 2020 at 8:16pmMmm…I see what you mean. We had a little fox visit our compost heap for almost a year. The dog couldn’t reach him, thank goodness, but she did try and I always worried. The poor little guy [fox] eventually died down by our back fence. I suspect he may have been baited.
Anyway, I see now why you keep Tipper and Chickie inside.

September 12, 2020 at 3:02pmIt’s good to be held when you want to be, Tipper.

September 13, 2020 at 10:28amHaving never been picked up…except by two ambulance rides, I can’t say I’m a fan. Even if it were for romantic intentions, I would fear being dropped and requiring yet a third ambulance trip. I’ll leave it to professionals like you. Cats are natural pick-up artists.

September 13, 2020 at 3:42pmLOL! I haven’t been picked up as an adult except to go into and out of ambulances, but I remember having liked it when I was wee, and Mr. Gravity wasn’t such a bitter enemy.
