#1 Daughter, who works in the children’s section of a library, turned me on to this book, The Hidden World of Gnomes, by Lauren Soloy. She loves it, #2 Daughter loves it, and I love it, so I went to a discount bookstore online and bought us each copies.
I still haven’t read all of it, because I enjoy savoring every page.
So my nails this week are:
The base is a neutral beige, except the accent nails, which are a fluid art of two light browns and a fluid metallic. The stamping is done with a very dark brown, and the mushroom reverse painting is done with a medium brown and red.
I recommend the book highly, for children or adults with sore hearts.
A WRITING PROMPT FROM ME TO YOU: The joy of feeling the sun warming your eyelids.
Bonus flash I just thought of: I closed my eyes, savoring the long-forgotten bliss of the sun warming my eyelids. It had been 400 years since I’d felt it, and I couldn’t think of a sweeter way to die.

I haven’t gotten mine yet, but I swear I will if I ever get better. I desperately want to drive around the country and get to see more of it.
