I was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but now live in the woods in southern Indiana. Though I only write fiction, I love to read non-fiction. The more I learn about this world, the more fantastic I see it is. Marian Allen's Amazon profile

February 6, 2024 at 4:16pmI don’t have ivy but I do have lots of the native ivy, and I love it! Then again, I’m on a bush block so there’s nothing formal or neat about it. lol

February 5, 2024 at 1:38amNot as bad as violets – which die off, leaving an ugly empty spot, but are almost impossible to eradicate, and only have little blooms part of the time.
What can work is a ground-cover like pachysandra, which fills in beautifully, but tends to stay in its bed, and choke out weeds and swallow leaves.
