HELLO! My name is CHICKIE!
Mommy had a new food a couple of weeks ago. It was chicken flavored, so it’s called Bock-bock-y.
Mommy: It’s called tteokbakki.
Uh-huh. Bock-bock-y
She said it was really hot so, after she finished all but a little sauce, she put it down so she could wipe her nose and glug a bunch of water.
I got interested.

Before she could stop me, because she didn’t think I would try it, I TRIED IT!

It was … interesting.

She said, “It’s hot, innit? Bet you’re sorry you tried it now.”
So I tried it again. It was still interesting.
Mommy grabbed it and took it away before I could try it again.
It tasted a little bit like chicken, if the chicken was on fire.
Not bad.
A WRITING PROMPT FOR ANIMALS: Do you like spicy food?

July 7, 2025 at 3:46amWhoa! Chickie you must have an asbestos mouth. Or…is it possible that cats can’t taste the same things we do????

July 7, 2025 at 3:01pmI looked online to make sure it was safe. I learned that cat’s can taste the spicyness as spicyness, but they can taste the flavor and detect the spicyness as sensation, I guess like pressing a finger against your arm rather than poking a pin in. I guess she was going after the chicken flavor of the broth.

July 6, 2025 at 5:29pmI’m surprised she gave it a second chance. I hope she doesn’t develop a taste for something spicy.
